Best Walmart Ad Management Tools in 2026
If you sell on Walmart Marketplace and run Sponsored Products, the tooling question used to have a boring answer: the native Ad Center, a short list of API partners, and not much daylight between them. That changed. The gap between vendors in 2026 is mostly a question of which parts of Walmart Connect each one has actually integrated, and the parts have multiplied.
Three changes reset the category. Walmart Connect launched a Display Advertising API in February 2025, so onsite display stopped being a managed-service-only buy for the partners who integrated it. In April 2026 it put self-serve social buying inside the Ad Center, starting with Meta, with TikTok self-service planned for the same half and an API for technology partners planned later in the year. In July 2026 it shipped negative keywords for Sponsored Products, with exact and phrase match types.
That last one is small on paper and large in practice. Until this year, a search term that was burning budget left you three options: lower the bid on the keyword that triggered it, pause the item, or switch the campaign off. On an automatic campaign, where there is no bidded keyword to lower, it left you the last two. Now it is a real control, and the tools that exposed it fastest are the ones with a live search API integration rather than a screen-scraped workaround.
Choosing badly here costs you a year of running Walmart as a second operation: a separate login, a separate weekly review, a separate person who knows how it works, and a set of decisions that never get the attention the Amazon account gets. That is the outcome this ranking is built around. For the broader picture of what changed on the channel, our post on Walmart Connect coming to TikTok covers the social side in more detail.
Quick answer
- Running Walmart and Amazon to one standard: Trellis, our own platform. It manages Walmart Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands through the Walmart Connect API on the same logic and schedule as the Amazon account, so Walmart stops getting second-tier attention.
- Enterprise display and DSP: Pacvue or Skai. Both were launch partners on the Display Advertising API, so onsite display gets managed next to search instead of bought as a service.
- A dozen retail media networks in one view: Skai. If the problem is comparing Walmart against fourteen other networks, breadth beats depth and we will say so.
- Adding TikTok Shop alongside Amazon and Walmart: Teikametrics, which covers the third channel we do not.
- Suppliers with 1P and 3P operations: CommerceIQ, where the ad decision sits next to item setup, content, and retail fundamentals.
- Small catalogs, and anyone buying Walmart social: the free Walmart Connect Ad Center. It now carries negatives, and it is still the only place to run self-serve Walmart-powered social. No third-party tool can do that until the partner API opens, ours included.
- Competitor product research: Helium 10 or Jungle Scout. That is a different job from ad management and no platform on this list does it better.
Do you need a Walmart ad tool at all?
Worth answering before the list, because for a meaningful share of readers the answer is no.
When the native Ad Center is genuinely enough
If you run a handful of SKUs in one category, keep spend in the low thousands per month, and review campaigns yourself on a Monday, the Walmart Connect Ad Center will do the job. It is free, it now carries negatives, and it is the only place a self-serve advertiser can buy Walmart-powered social today. Paying for software to sit on top of a small account buys you a second interface and not much else.
What a tool has to add to be worth the switch
The threshold is roughly this: when the number of bid, budget, keyword, and negative decisions in a week exceeds what one person can work through carefully, most of those decisions start getting a default instead of a judgment. Software earns its place by applying the same standard to all of them, logging what it did, and letting you point at the log when someone asks why spend moved.
How we ranked these Walmart ad management tools
This is a Trellis guide and we rank our own platform first, so the criteria are worth reading before the list. We have tried to describe every other tool the way its own team would recognize, and where a competitor is genuinely the better fit we say so.
Five criteria, applied in this order:
- Walmart Connect API depth. Which surfaces the tool can create and optimize, not just report on: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Videos, onsite display, DSP. A dashboard that reads Walmart data but pushes changes nowhere is reporting, not management.
- One standard across Walmart and Amazon. Whether the same optimization logic, the same review cadence, and the same reporting cover both channels, or whether Walmart is a bolt-on with a lighter feature set.
- Inspectable logic and change history. Whether you can see which rule fired, on what data, and reverse it. This is what you need when performance dips and someone senior asks what changed.
- Coverage of what Walmart ships next. Negative keywords took Walmart years. Social has an API planned but not open. A partner's track record of integrating new surfaces quickly is a real buying signal.
- Fit for the team that will run it. An enterprise retail media platform in the hands of a two-person ecommerce team is shelfware with an invoice.
Two things we deliberately did not rank on: pricing, because published numbers in this category go stale within a quarter and most vendors quote to account scale anyway, and headline performance claims, because none of them are comparable across accounts.
The best Walmart ad management tools in 2026
Nine entries, each with the case for it and the caveat that decides whether it fits you. Read the caveat first if you are shortlisting.
Best for running Walmart on the same standard as Amazon: Trellis
Trellis is our platform, and this is the criterion we built for. Trellis is a US Walmart Platform Partner integrated with the Walmart Connect API, and manages Walmart Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands with keyword harvesting, bid adjustments, and dayparting applied on Walmart's own performance data rather than on an Amazon model pointed at a second channel. Changes push to Walmart Connect rather than sitting in a recommendation queue.
The part that matters for this ranking is what sits above the bid engine. Qore, the layer where you turn a review you currently do by hand into a workflow that runs on a schedule, lets you write the standard once and apply it to Walmart and Amazon together: the same definition of a wasted search term, the same branded versus competitor split, the same weekly diagnostic. Actions start gated on your approval, and that gate is a setting rather than a permanent state, so once a routine has made the same call correctly for a month you can tighten its rules and let it act on the clear-cut cases while escalating the rest. Every approved change lands in a log with the reason and the data it fired on recorded against it, which is the artifact to ask us for rather than taking the claim on adjectives. Qinetix, our execution layer, runs the bids continuously against the optimization logic you select per campaign, inside zones with a floor and a ceiling, keeps that change log, and runs dynamic pricing as a parallel mechanism with shared visibility, repricing only inside the margin floors and inventory conditions you set.
The honest limits. Walmart's ad surface is narrower than Amazon's, so channel coverage is not channel equivalence and anyone telling you otherwise has not run both. Qinetix runs the bids itself, so it takes that job over rather than sitting on top of another platform's bidding, which is a real decision to make rather than a small one. Qore is the part that works either way: it reads and analyzes any connected account and applies a change you have approved regardless of what manages the bids, or with no automation platform at all. And like every partner on this list, we cannot manage Walmart-powered social until Walmart Connect opens that API.
See the Walmart advertising software page for the product detail, and our guide to Walmart Sponsored Products for the campaign mechanics underneath all of this.
Best for enterprise display and audience buying: Pacvue
Pacvue was one of three beta partners fully integrated with the Walmart Display Advertising API at its launch, alongside Skai and DataCaciques, and it built onsite display campaign management to match: creatives, item sets, targeting, and dayparting managed next to search rather than in a separate workflow. It also shipped Walmart negative keyword support, and it is named by Walmart Connect among the partner technology providers offering it. For a brand team spending meaningfully on Walmart display with audience segments built from Walmart first-party data, Pacvue is a serious answer.
The caveat is weight. Pacvue is built for enterprise retail media organizations across many retailers, and the implementation, taxonomy, and services effort reflects that. Teams who want the display depth without the enterprise rollout should look at what a smaller footprint gets them. Our own approach concentrates on search and pricing execution rather than competing on display breadth, which is a real difference and not a euphemism. If display is the priority, Pacvue deserves the shortlist spot. For context on the upper-funnel side of Walmart, our post on connected TV ads for Walmart sellers covers where that spend goes.
Best for cross-retailer retail media portfolios: Skai
Skai manages sponsored placements across a long list of retail media networks from one console, with Walmart among the deepest integrations. It was the second named beta partner on the Display Advertising API, supports Walmart negative keywords, and has extended display and CTV measurement to Walmart DSP so that a portfolio manager can compare Walmart against other retailers in one view.
If your problem is that you buy fifteen retail media networks and cannot compare them, Skai is a better fit than we are and we will say that plainly. If your problem is that Amazon and Walmart are the two that matter and neither is being run to a consistent standard, breadth across fifteen networks is solving something you do not have. That is the split worth being honest about, and it is why our Walmart advertising strategies guide is written for two-channel operators rather than portfolio buyers.
Best for adding TikTok Shop alongside Amazon and Walmart: Teikametrics
Teikametrics manages Amazon, Walmart, and TikTok Shop in one product, with inventory signals feeding the bid decision so that spend backs off when stock cover is thin. It is named by Walmart Connect among the partners offering negative keyword support, and it publishes an annual Amazon and Walmart benchmark study that is genuinely useful reading whether or not you buy the software.
The reason to shortlist it is the third channel. If TikTok Shop is a real part of your revenue rather than an experiment, that coverage is the differentiator, and it is not something we offer. Model-driven bidding is not what separates the two products: Qinetix runs bids continuously against per-campaign optimization logic inside operator-set zones, so on that dimension we are competing rather than complementary, and you should judge us on the same criteria.
Which brings up the caveat that applies to every model-driven bidder, ourselves included: the quality of the output depends on how much you can see and change about the logic. If you want to inspect which rule fired and redirect it, ask to see that surface in the demo before you commit, and put the same question to us. Our comparison of the best Amazon PPC automation software covers the same evaluation on the Amazon side.
Best for teams already standardized on an Amazon ads platform: Perpetua
Perpetua is an onboarded Walmart Connect API partner and manages Walmart campaigns alongside Amazon and other retail media in one product. For a team that already runs Amazon in Perpetua and wants Walmart under the same login without a new procurement cycle, that continuity has real value and it is the sensible path.
The caveat is the one that applies to most Amazon-first platforms extended to Walmart: Walmart typically receives the lighter version of the Amazon feature set, and the gap shows up in the surfaces that only exist on Walmart. Ask specifically which Walmart placements and which optimization controls are live rather than roadmapped. We hold ourselves to the same question, and the answer for us is Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands through the Walmart Connect API today.
Best for suppliers unifying retail operations with advertising: CommerceIQ
CommerceIQ integrated with the Walmart Connect APIs to automate Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brand Amplifier management, and pulls that together with 1P and 3P operations and digital shelf analytics. For a supplier organization where the ad decision cannot be separated from item setup, content, and retail fundamentals, that combination is the argument.
The caveat is scope. Most Marketplace sellers do not have a 1P operation to unify, and the parts of the platform that justify the price are the parts they will not use. If your Walmart business is 3P and your problem is the weekly optimization grind, a narrower tool will serve you better. Retail readiness still gates ad performance either way, which is why our Walmart Marketplace App Store guide is worth a read before you add anything to the stack.
Best specialist and additional Partner Network options: DataCaciques, Quartile, Intentwise
Three more names belong on a serious shortlist. DataCaciques was the third launch partner on the Display Advertising API and is a Walmart-focused specialist rather than a generalist, which shows in how quickly it picks up new Walmart features. Quartile runs machine-learning campaign management across Amazon, Walmart, and other marketplaces, and is named among the partners supporting Walmart negative keywords. Intentwise is strong on analytics and reporting depth, and is a long-standing Walmart Connect API partner.
Walmart Connect's own Partner Directory is the authoritative list and it changes, so check it before you build a shortlist from any article, including this one. The caveat across this group is that analytics depth and execution depth are different products, and several tools here are stronger at telling you what happened than at changing it. Confirm which one you are buying.
Best free starting point: the Walmart Connect Ad Center
The native Walmart Connect Ad Center is free, carries negative keywords with exact and phrase match, and is currently the only place a self-serve advertiser can create Walmart-powered social campaigns on Meta, with TikTok self-service planned. No third-party tool can do that yet, ours included, and that is a straightforward point in the native tool's favor.
Where it runs out is repetition and memory. There is no way to apply one standard across a roster of accounts, no shared logic with your Amazon work, and no record of your reasoning beyond what you keep yourself. Those are the specific gaps a paid tool should close, and if a vendor cannot name which of them it closes for you, it is not closing any.
Where Trellis fits on keyword research, and where Helium 10 is better
Two different jobs both get called keyword research, and we are strong at one of them.
Once your ads are running, Trellis discovers keywords out of your own campaign data: harvesting converting search terms from auto campaigns, promoting them into manual targeting, and surfacing the terms your existing spend has already proved out. That is a live-account job, it runs continuously, and it is a core part of what the platform does.
What we are not built for is competitor-based product research before the ads exist. Reverse-lookups on a rival listing, category demand sizing, sourcing decisions. Helium 10 and Jungle Scout own that work and both cover Walmart, and Walmart's own Ad Center keyword suggestions are a reasonable free starting point before you pay anyone. If you need to know what a competitor ranks for before you have a campaign, buy one of those. If you need to know what your running campaigns have already found, that is us.
If you want something free from us for on-page and keyword checks while you browse a listing, the Trellis Chrome extension does that job and costs nothing.
How the Walmart ad tool categories compare
| Approach | Walmart surfaces it can manage today | Walmart and Amazon on one standard | What you give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walmart Connect Ad Center (native) | Sponsored Search, onsite display, negatives, and self-serve social on Meta | No, Walmart only | Roster templating, shared logic with Amazon, any record of your reasoning |
| Amazon-first ad platforms extended to Walmart | Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands via the search API, negatives where shipped | Same login, often different logic | Walmart usually gets the lighter version of the Amazon feature set |
| Enterprise retail media platforms | Sponsored Search plus onsite display via the Display Advertising API, some DSP | Yes, across many retailers, at enterprise weight | Implementation and services effort a lean team will feel every week |
| Walmart-focused specialists | Sponsored Search, reporting depth, early access to new Walmart features | Rarely, Walmart is the whole product | A second tool and a second standard for everything that is not Walmart |
| Trellis (Qinetix and Qore) | Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands through the Walmart Connect API, plus pricing inside operator-set floors | Yes, that is the design point | Narrower display and DSP footprint than the enterprise platforms, and no Walmart social until that API opens |
What to check before you sign anything
Five questions separate a real Walmart integration from a Walmart tab.
Which Walmart Connect APIs are you integrated with
Sponsored Search, Display Advertising, and reporting are separate integrations, and DSP is separate again. Ask for the list by name, not the marketing summary. Walmart's advertising partner developer documentation tells you what exists, so you can check the answer against it.
How do you handle placements, given Walmart's multipliers only go up
This one catches out anyone whose instincts were formed on Amazon. Walmart's placement and platform bid multipliers start at 0 percent, and 0 percent means bid at your base bid with no uplift rather than bid less. There is no negative adjustment, so you cannot shade a poorly converting carousel or Buy Box placement downward the way you would on Amazon, and setting the multiplier to zero does not switch the placement off. The levers that do work are placement exclusion, splitting placements into separate campaigns so they can be budgeted and paused independently, and lowering the base bid. Ask a vendor which of those it can do on your behalf, because a tool that only raises multipliers is not giving you placement control.
What happened the last three times Walmart shipped something
Negative keywords landed in July 2026. Ask when the vendor supported them and how many clicks it took to use. That single answer tells you more about the next two years of the relationship than any roadmap slide.
Can you show me the change log
Ask to see a real account's history: what changed, when, on what data, and who or what triggered it. If the answer is a summary rather than a record, you will be reconstructing your own explanations every time performance moves.
Who runs this on a Tuesday
Enterprise platforms assume a team. Lean tools assume an operator with a spare hour. Match the tool to the person who will open it every week, not to the org chart you are hoping for.
Where Qore and Qinetix fit
A careful operator running both marketplaces already has a standard. They know which search terms are worth negating, which SKUs get pushed and which get protected, how much a launch is allowed to lose, and what the Monday review looks for. On Amazon that standard is applied with tooling. On Walmart it usually gets applied from memory, in a second console, on whatever attention is left. A general-purpose AI tool helps with the analysis part of that, and helps genuinely, but it will give you a slightly different answer to the same question next week and it cannot push the change into Walmart Connect when you agree with it.
Qore closes that gap by taking the review you do by hand and turning it into a workflow that runs on a schedule against both channels: your definition of a wasted term, your branded and competitor split, your escalation thresholds, held as logic you can read and edit, producing the same output from the same inputs. Actions are gated on your approval by default, and the gate loosens as the routine earns it, so a workflow you have watched for a month can apply the obvious changes itself and bring you only the judgment calls. Qinetix does the execution underneath: bids moving continuously inside zones you set with a floor and a ceiling, a learning phase guardrail, a change log, and dynamic pricing running as a parallel mechanism with shared visibility, repricing only inside the margin and inventory conditions you define. Our Walmart pricing strategy guide covers how those conditions get set.
What this does not do. It does not make Walmart equivalent to Amazon, because the ad surface is not equivalent and the data is thinner. It does not give you a control Walmart does not expose, so no amount of tooling will let you bid a Walmart placement below base. It does not manage Walmart-powered social, because the partner API is not open. And it does not invent your standard for you: Qore is where a standard gets encoded and run, which means you still have to have one and still have to decide what good looks like.
Our recommendation
If you run Walmart and Amazon and the real problem is that Walmart is a second operation getting second-tier attention, Trellis is our recommendation and the criteria above are the reason. If you buy Walmart display and DSP at enterprise scale, put Pacvue and Skai at the top of the list. If you buy across a dozen retail media networks, Skai. If TikTok Shop is a third channel that matters, Teikametrics covers it and we do not. If you are a supplier with 1P operations in the mix, CommerceIQ. If competitor product research is the job, Helium 10 or Jungle Scout beats all of us. If you have a small catalog and an hour a week, stay in the Ad Center and spend the money on inventory.
The bottom line for ecommerce teams
- Ask which Walmart Connect APIs a vendor is integrated with, by name. Sponsored Search, Display Advertising, reporting and DSP are four separate integrations, and Walmart's developer docs let you check the answer.
- Negative keyword support is the fastest tell. They shipped in July 2026. How quickly a vendor exposed them predicts how they will handle the next two years of Walmart releases.
- You cannot bid a Walmart placement down. Multipliers only raise bids and 0 percent means base bid, so placement control comes from exclusion, campaign structure, or a lower base bid. Ask which of those a vendor can run for you.
- Make them show you a real change log before you sign. A summary is not a record, and you will need the record the first time spend moves and someone senior asks why.
- Nobody manages Walmart social yet. Until the partner API opens, that stays in the Ad Center regardless of what you buy.
- Match the tool to the person who opens it on a Tuesday. Enterprise platforms assume a team; a two-person ecommerce team will not get value from one.
- If your catalog is small, buy inventory instead. The free Ad Center plus a disciplined Monday review covers a short SKU list well.
Whatever you shortlist, buy against your own version of the five criteria rather than a feature grid. The best Walmart advertising tools in 2026 are the ones that can prove what they did and let you change it.
Bring your current Monday review and we will walk through what running Walmart on the same logic and schedule as Amazon would actually change.
Book a walkthroughFrequently Asked Questions
For brands running both Walmart and Amazon, our answer is Trellis, because it manages Walmart Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands through the Walmart Connect API and applies the same optimization logic to both channels rather than treating Walmart as a bolt-on. For enterprise teams buying Walmart onsite display and DSP, Pacvue and Skai are stronger choices, as both were launch partners on Walmart's Display Advertising API. The right answer depends on which of the five criteria above matters most in your account.
Not necessarily. The Ad Center is free, now supports negative keywords with exact and phrase match, and handles a small catalog well. Software becomes worth it when the weekly volume of bid, budget, and keyword decisions is larger than one person can work through carefully, or when you need the same standard applied across Walmart and Amazon at once.
Not yet. Walmart Connect opened self-serve social buying inside its own Ad Center in April 2026, starting with Meta, and said an API for technology partners was planned for later in the year. Until that API is live, Walmart-powered social campaigns are created in the Ad Center regardless of which platform manages the rest of your Walmart spend.
Walmart Connect launched negative keywords for Sponsored Products in July 2026 and named Pacvue, Skai, Quartile, Teikametrics, and DataCaciques as partner technology providers offering them at launch. The feature is also available directly in the Walmart Connect Ad Center. Any vendor you are evaluating should be able to say clearly whether negatives are live in their product and how they are applied.
Usually not at first. With a short SKU list and modest spend, the native Ad Center plus a disciplined weekly review will get you most of the way, and the money is better spent on inventory or listing quality. Revisit the question when campaign count grows past what you can review properly, or when you add a second marketplace.
Yes, several can, but "together" means different things. Some vendors give you both channels behind one login with separate logic and a lighter Walmart feature set; others apply the same standard, the same schedule, and the same reporting to both. Ask to see the Walmart side of the product specifically, since that is where the difference shows.
