Overview

What it looks at, what it flags, what comes back, what you can change.

What it looks at
Stock status, child sales, and the ads behind them
  • Every child ASIN's sales, ad spend, and stock status
  • Parent groupings, so children are ranked against siblings
  • The advertisements promoting each affected child
What it flags
Parents with an out-of-stock child that matters
  • Out of stock, or in stock but scarce
  • The Hero, Gateway, or Halo role of each child
  • Parents above the account sales share you set, as High impact
What comes back
One decision per parent, then one change per ad
  • Cut budget, Replace with Hero, or No action
  • Current budget, proposed budget, and the amount released
  • The out-of-stock Gateway paired with its in-stock Hero
What you can change
Six settings, per run, without editing the skill
  • Marketplace, cut multiplier, High impact threshold
  • Product and ad link lookback windows
  • The sales share that qualifies a child as Halo

Run Settings
The six things this skill asks you to set.
Marketplace
Which Amazon marketplace to read, such as USA, UK or DE. One marketplace per run.
Oos cut multiplier
Scales the combined sales share of the out-of-stock children into the budget cut. Lower it to cut more cautiously.
High impact sales pct threshold
The share of total account sales a parent must reach to be marked High impact. Lower it on accounts with a long tail.
Product lookback days
How many trailing days of product performance to read, excluding today. Longer on lower-traffic accounts.
Ad link lookback days
How many trailing days of product-advertisement performance to read, excluding today. Sets each ad's spend window.
Min child sales share for halo pct
The parent sales share a non-Hero, non-Gateway child needs to count as a Halo. Raise it to act only on larger children.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is some text inside of a div block.

This skill reads stock status for every child ASIN, finds the parents with an out-of-stock child, and computes a budget cut for each advertisement promoting them. The cuts are staged for your approval, then written to the advertisement budget.

What counts as out of stock?

Either OUT_OF_STOCK or IN_STOCK_SCARCE. Both are treated as a child that cannot carry the traffic an ad is paying for.

What are Hero, Gateway and Halo children?

The Hero is the child with the top sales share in its parent group. The Gateway is the child with the top ad spend among the non-Hero children. A Halo is any other child carrying at least the parent sales share you set as the Halo minimum.

How is the budget cut calculated?

How is the budget cut calculated?

Does it pause ads when the Gateway goes out of stock?

No. If the Gateway is out of stock and the Hero is in stock, it leaves the budget alone and hands back the Hero as the redirect target, per advertisement. It excludes ads that already have another in-stock product carrying traffic.

Will it cut the same budget twice?

It records each advertisement's earliest pre-cut budget alongside the figure it last set, so a prior cut is not compounded and a manual change since the last run is visible.

Keep spend in line with stock

Ads keep spending while a product runs out, then keep paying after it is gone. This keeps spend and stock in step.
